Maser's Academy of Fine Grooming teaches the basics of dog grooming and
advanced dog grooming, such as: hand scissoring, styles, patterns, and all breed
grooming. Maser's is licensed under Chapter 28C.10. Inquiries or

The skills taught are:
- Use and care of equipment.
- Bathing, Drying, Nail trimming, Ear and anal gland cleaning.
- Health and first aid for general problems encountered.
- Handling of dogs and cats, and behavior problems.
- Brushing and de-matting.
- Roughing out: pre bath grooming.
- Scissoring, Thinning and Stripping.
- Finishing: achieving the finished product.
- Breed studies for the dogs that frequent grooming salons.
- Clips and styles for dogs that frequent grooming salons.
- Videos: individual breeds and seminar topics.
Maser's offers 5 levels of education:
Introductory class, Vocational Pet Grooming
Ten day 70- 80 hours This class teaches, Bathing, Brushing, Drying
de-shedding, de-matting, and how to handle dogs with different temperaments.
This class is mandatory unless student has prior grooming shop experience.
Vocational Pet Grooming Level 1 (200 hours) This class trains students to be
Groomer's Helpers it is a 5 week (25 day class) We will work on all breeds of
dogs but will emphasize Sporting Breeds, There will be a written test on
Sporting breeds to earn a certificate.
Vocational Pet Grooming Level 2 (200 hours) This class trains students to be
Entry Level Groomers it is a 5 week (25 day class) We will work on all breeds of
dogs but will emphasize Non-Sporting Breeds, There will be a written test on
Non-Sporting Breeds to earn a certificate.
Vocational Pet Grooming Level 3 (200 hours) This class trains students to be
All breed Salon Groomers ( and Shop Owners) it is a 5 week (25 day Class) We
will work on all breeds of dogs but will emphasize Terrier Breeds, There will be
a written test on Terrier Breeds to earn a certificate.
Maser's
Master Groomer. Once a student has passed all levels of classes and wish
too, they may study and take a written test on all of the other groups of dogs,
Herding, Hound, Toy and Working. Once they pass this written test on all the
breeds of dogs they will earn a Certificate as a Maser's Master Groomer.
